ok yeah, I get that the in the context of SBURB the white pieces lost, which has the 4 players rise up to defeat the Black pieces. But in general, why is it the black side always the evil side and the white side is always the good side? I mean I get the symbolism, white=good, black=bad, but sometimes I just want to shake it up a bit, you know?

I’m the type of person who reads the introduction of the book before the actual novel, so I’m glad I got someone else go go down the dull rabbit hole with me

(If you havent caught on to the parallels between karkat and john yet, id recommend rereading the first 5 or so pages in the comic, as well as pages 80-82. It’s not super important overall, but it is sorta interesting (or at least I think it is) )

Yeah, I got the naming thing because all of the kids have to go through that one way or another. But seeing how they both see an empty street and having a “long day” is pretty interesting. I’m going to have to keep an eye out for more parallels between the two of them from now on

So my theory of “meteor’s crash into the future child’s interests/skills” is still plausible!

So all ships, somewhere in the universe, are real. The degree of realness’s is up to you though lol )

Well given the complexity of the kids biological existence, it would be hard to shift it all out. 

But it is nice of Hussie to give leeway for the fans on their ships. I don’t think I have seen any creator (other than for Rick&Morty and TAZ) where they actively say “yeah this is my story, but i’m sure there’s another universe where your idea is right, so go ahead and enjoy yourself.” Those kinds of people are pretty cool.

That was the funniest goddamn video I have ever seen. I don’t think I will ever laugh like that for anything else, it was the best one.

God I just keep missing everything on this, don’t I? Now I can’t tell if I want to read the comics so I will understand the in-verse in-jokes, or if I shouldn’t because I want to see how many references I will miss over the course of Homestuck,

Ah. I should just read these comics I guess, because apparently Dave sees these comics in his visions and is using them to future tell as memes. Maybe, eventually.

Yeah I see your point. Maybe it would have been better to let Rose investigate the water and see that it was chalk? Regardless, you are right that it doesn’t matter to the overall plot.

Do you take add-ons? Because if keysmashing is for the gay, that means that Dave must also be an gay too since he did it too. Like maybe Dave is a sleeper gay since he did it in his sleep

Yes. I’m pretty sure that the Baroness was Betty Crocker, and the KFC guy was the guy from the book, Colonel Sassacre. So this means that jokes and baking are a part of John’s history 

( There used to be a very active forum where Hussie could read what fans were thinking and even interact with himself. It has since been shut down. Even if he didn’t write anything himself after a while he still kept careful eye on what people were saying so he could still incorporate the community in the story even without the command box. )

This is beautiful because not only was he creeping on how people thought of his story, but he was also scoping out for better plot ideas than he could come up with

I’m glad you asked, because I think I misread something that almost screwed me over. This is what I read.

See when I first read it, I read “Collateral damage from a corporation,” not “to a corporation.” So I was thinking that hey, Gramps is a billionaire explorer, and he as some secret ties with SBURB and the space planets, so it was his fault that the factory exploded from tests or whatever 13 years ago yadda yadda.

But since it’s “to a corporation”, this sort of killed my theory off right from the start. Glad you asked about it, otherwise I might have been looking for the wrong information.

But now I have a new headcanon that Gramps owns Betty Crocker.
