Homestuck

right, I think I’m going to call it here. I’ll try to have a more consistent schedule of doing this like around Thursday-Saturday since summer is here, so I won’t be gone for too long

So the Desert Guy is Desert Imp. I mean, no permanent confirmation, but that is my guess. I don’t know how they got out or why they are pestering John, but at least it explains why they scream like a maniac every time

Rose’s writings is informative, but still annoying. And it’s hard to characterize her relationship with Garden. like her sarcasm goes over Garden’s head, and Garden’s loving nature strikes through Rose’s passive agressiveness. I get that they obviously care about each other, so I don’t know how exactly to mark their friendship yet.

Speaking of which, Garden obviously knows more than she lets on. Either her family is in on the game, or she really does have super powers. I’m betting on the former, but who knows.

Dave is still trying to be cool as always, even though he missed his city being assulted by sky fire. But honestly, keep Dave as far from his brother’s puppet fetish as possible. This child does not need to know about this.

so, hehe, funny story. I think Desert Man cursed me with my last post because I went out to grab some food and ended up with a flat tire to fix. So had to deal with that. But now I am back to really do this. So I guess let’s get started…again

I think that is the end for me here. Sorry for not having a conclusion
for last time. I didn’t realize that Tumblr has a limit on posting, so that caught me off guard.

Rose has an interested relationship with her mom. It reminds me a lot like South Park with  The Emo kid’s mom. The mom is trying but just isn’t getting what Rose likes. I mean, I need to see her mom in a different view to get a better picture, because Rose’s pettiness (and it is passive aggressive petty) is obviously bias here that I can’t think her mom is as evil as Rose makes her out.

Dave didn’t get too much of a show here. But we still get come character stuff in the chats. The relationship with the mystery Garden Girl. She has to be a girl, it makes it balanced with 2 boys, 2 girls. She is like a fortune teller, diviner character that seems crazy but knows her stuff.

But between the chat relationship, Dave & Rose try to one-up each other, Dave & Garden are like chill siblings open to stupid shit, and Dave & John are just best buds. And that he is so caring for his friends in different but kind ways, that is such good writing here.

And my god John. From actually fighting the evil ink monsters, seeing more stupid world mechanics of gushers and rpgs, and Grandma makes a return. And we now know more about this world, the real world is dying, and it is basically John’s fault that the clowns attack.

So this means in the future, I will never be rid of the clowns. They will attack John forever. The rulers are going to be clowns, but Light and Dark versions. That I will hate when I get there.

right, I am calling it for a night. I still don’t know how far I am in act 2. And at this point I don’t care. This blog is going to get 10,000 post someday so it doesn’t really matter what act I am at

The Misadventures of Dave is Hilarious. This is that 13 year old trying to be cool but still a shitty kid. He’s becoming less like a college student I want to hang with and more of a brother I want to have. Maybe less weapons and apple pee shenanigans though. Would like that.

John is still trapped, and something is going to try and kill him, and since we are at flashback mode I can’t figure it out. Are the monsters viruses, did his rabbit get posessed? What’s with the ink everywhere?

Well, it might be a bit before I get back to this. I got finals to work at and study for. But I will visit again when I’m done

and that is going to end it for today.

Didn’t see much of John’s story line, but we got 2 new characters introduced. Mystery Happy Garden Person on the Chat, and Dave the literal embodiment of cool. I met this guy through his raps and I already love him. He could tone down the irony, but he does look like the guy I would want to be friends with in real life.

Also, Rose is going to move on to World Domination. Apparently right after she kills her mother with needles. I mean holy shit.

Ask PSA

time for another session people, but first, a psa announcement.

My Ask-Screener suggested I post a guideline here on some of the questions that will get passed to me.

Asks that either clarify a concept that I don’t know (Velvet Gloves), explain a background to a thing (Wizard Portraits), or just how I think about the stuff I have already seen, those are going to get answered

Asks that talk about future characters/events, or answers a rhetorical question by saying “Oh that happens on page 8329 etc”, those are considered as spoilers and won’t be passed to me.

So shorthand, anything that asks about where I am currently at/have seen is good. Stuff that talks about future/implies the future will be tossed

yeah I am calling it a night here. Went through a lot of text and stuff so a somewhat decent place to pause.

It is nice to see that Desert Man is the mysterious Blue Text that commands/orders John. Why he is in here I don’t know.

While that walkthrough was long as hell, it was good to know exactly what those machines do. And the fact the clown has been replaced gives me so much life.

Hopefully next session Rose will be with John and try to bust their way out. I mean, if Ghost Grandma can give John a lift to the abyss.

I’m calling it for the night. I feel like I went pretty far in Act 2, but seeing how there is like 10,000 pages I don’t know if I even made a dent.

The Desert Guy from the beginning was pretty cool, like a prequel of sorts. Too bad I won’t know who he is til much later. An Older John perhaps? Or another Earth that dealt with SBURBS as well?

I still don’t know what kind of landscape John is trapped in, but my money is a computer. Don’t know what monsters lurk inside to kidnap his dad and stuffed rabbit, but at least John isn’t in danger for the most part.

I don’t think I got far plot wise, but it was very entertaining to actually be in control of John for a while. And the clown has some plot relevance, what I don’t know. I know it’s going to talk someday, it’s just a matter of when

ACT 1

So yeah, I am going to call it here for the night. I figure it’s a good spot to end seeing how I reached the end of the first part.

It took a while to get used to the set-up of homestuck. I was not expecting code jargon being so integral to the story, with the Storage Systems. But Hussie managed to make that very entertaining with John’s problematic Stacks and Queues. But as soon as I knew that Homestuck would keep me on my toes with its nonsense, I adjusted quite well to the story. John acts like a normal kid, and chats with other normal kids. It was cool to see Rose first through her user handle before actually meeting her. And It was cool to actually get to know her like how we know John. I love how Hussie, even when dealing with people’s trolling, still uses the dumb commands as a way for character development. And meeting Rose in this way does support my theory that the chat friends will all be main characters at some point.

Though I still have my questions, like is Rose’s mother really evil, or is that just pre-teen angst? What was the purpose of the SBURB game, and why is it turning houses into a real life sims game? What the fuck is with the floating blue hell clown? and HOLY SHIT JOHN JUST GOT NUKED!!!!!!!

But yes, even though I am still unsure what homestuck is about, I am a lot more comfortable reading it now than at the start, and cannot wait to see how this plays out

Yeah, I was actually thinking about this a little bit ago. I know that homestuck has chapters in it since it is a comic (something like Trolls in Chapter 4?) but I can’t tell if I am still at Part One or jumped into another Act.

But yes, next session I will start tagging with each Act, starting with Act 1 which I assume I am still at

alright, that is it for this round. I have some stuff I got to take care of for school. I might not have a consistent schedule, but I will try to return to this soon within the next few days.

I will say that the comic’s mechanics are beginning to grow on me, especially the “in-game storage”, and it also helps that we have some action to avoid death by meteor. Seeing Rose and knowing from prior knowledge about Rose does help my theory that everyone in John’s chat will be introduced sooner or later. So just gonna wait patiently for that.

I’m tired and getting way too distracted so I’m calling it here. My thoughts overall, at least the game is interesting for it being sims. How this power somehow exists in this world goes right along with their storage. But homestuck does have a nice little charm to it. Just wish I can get to more Plot! but it’s whatever.
Since tomorrow is Sunday I’ll pick it up then, but don’t expect on constant schedule.

Asks

Alright. So making this official I guess. I now have an ask-blog where anyone and everyone can put their asks through. I also have an ask-screener so that way I won’t get accidently spoiled from the asks.

so just click on the ask-box and ask away! If the screener likes it, they’ll send it to me and I’ll answer it here

HomeStuck

ok, so I have god more free time. I am going to try something new and do Homestuck. I have know idea what Homestuck is about, so this is me just trying to figure myself out on this.

The things that I know are there are 4 kids, Dave, Rose, Blue Guy, other. They play a video game, then the world ends. Rose’s mom is rich. Dave has a brother with rad glasses. Blue Guy’s dad has no face and eventually becomes his son. There are trolls of the zodiac. Their blood determines hierarchy. The have some complicated shipping chart that uses card suits. Gay kitkat troll is canon. And the entire multiverse multiverse takes place on the back of a giant frog.

So yeah can’t wait to start
