Why do the background things always kill me the most?

I don’t think this is a good thing. If Max is normal exhausted in his body, but most newbs would blow something up in power, means that either Max had either little-to-no power originally, or his power was trained to handle a ton of energy already and he isn’t used to spending any of it yet.

Meaning he either a) started absorbing the spirit energy as soon as he entered this town, or b) always had this power since the get go.

And I don’t think that Spender has thought of these things just yet

He actually stopped himself from falling. I’m impressed
