And lookie here, the dark background around Isabel is not being cut away by Spender’s light-squiggles.

They are a lot alike.

We both make weird ass faces, it runs in the family

They finally get to talk heart-to-heart. This was well needed.

God, Spender only now realized? He must really feel like an ass.

Isabel is growing from her experiences. Not experiences that I want her to have, but important growth from it.

Isabel knows Spender so well (probably because of his relationship with her grandfather) that she probably sees him as an older brother figure

It better be, the doctor is the best ghost doctor (Baxter gives no shits on the inside)

EDIT: Hey look I was an idiot, Spender is talking about his own wound, not Isabel’s. He probably just duct-taped himself and called it good

I just want to piece this scene all together because damn if it isn’t amazing

Look at how when Isabel asks question, Spender starts to get his darker background again like he is trying to dig into his dangerous beliefs of doing everything by himself

Look how Isabel red is cutting through it like how she cuts to the chase on why Spender needs to fight alone. Not that he couldn’t, but that he feels like he has to.

And look at how once Isabel pointed out that Spender got hurt, showing vulnerability to him, that the background clears, Spender realizes that his actions to take the burden by himself still caused his students to hurt.

Such a good sequence.
